On account of a number of time pressures at the moment, I am going to be taking a little break from blogging for the next week or so.
I hope not to be away for too long and will pop back if I get a bit of space to do so, but for now I’ll leave you with this quote:

My holiday starts today, so I thought I’d write the posts for the week now…
On Tuesday I will be reflecting on the book, ‘The Tiger’s Wife‘, by Téa Obreht. It won the Orange prize for fiction a few years ago so I will probably be comparing my reaction to that of the judges!
On Thursday I will be pleased with myself for writing down my experiences over the course of the break, and be finding the beauty of the setting a huge inspiration.
On Sunday I will be sad about reaching the last night already. I will be drinking Sangria. These two things do not make for a complex, interesting or coherent post, so I will simply share a song that makes me happy 🙂
Now you know what you’ll be missing you can rest assured you aren’t missing anything…
Have a great, productive and inspirational week and I will be back soon.
Oh, and I am not going to Italy, but I like using the word ciao!

It’s been a bit of a girl’s night in tonight, something I don’t normally do, but I have to admit it’s pretty relaxing. I have been so relaxed, in fact, that I didn’t realise it was time to sit down and write something until it was too late!
Not that I have a huge amount to share, since last week – poetry is ongoing and I continue to filter titles along the way. It’s probably the worst time to blog about actually; my poetry process is pretty quick usually but this stage, before anything is ready to share, is fairly unchanging.
I write, I revise, I review, I revise, and so on until I am reasonably happy, when I will leave it for a few weeks before reviewing it again.
So we are in the nuts and bolts of creation now, waiting for the new poem to emerge. Little to report but a tough time to go through. No wonder I needed a night off!

Have you ever seen Gone With The Wind? Partway through there’s an interval/intermission for people to have a rest and stretch their legs.
That’s what I’m doing now: I’m having a writing interval. So today there are no updates, no ‘in other news’ items, no quotes to keep you on the writing track. Just a little clip of a break, if you want to click on it.
