I didn’t finish a book this week, so I thought I’d give you a quote on reading instead, but I couldn’t really find one I liked. I’m obviously not in a book-focussed mood today; in fact I just got back from a private screening at the cinema so I’m really just in a popcorn mood!
Instead, I’m going to pass this one back to you and ask for some suggestions for books for next year’s challenge. So far I have a pile left over from this year, and a lot of borrowed books – but what are the ones you think everyone should read? What are the books that stayed with you long after you closed the cover on the last page? Which writers changed the way you look at the world, or made you laugh harder than you thought possible?
Let me know in the comments so I can get prepared for the next 52 week challenge!
Happy reading,
EJ

I quite like Goodreads and suggestions from friends on there. Could recommend La Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver which I read about a year ago.
Thank you for the recommendation – I see it’s a bit of a ‘marmite’ book but I quite like to explore those and will be interested to see which side I fall into!
Goodreads was a great idea – I just went into a book I liked and saw what other people who read it have also enjoyed which has sent me towards Ursula K Le Guin who I have read about, but never read π
I liked Ursula Le Guinn many years ago! I also like marmite and think my taste in books is probably that. I loved a nature book by Robert Mcfarlane, Wild Places and it was descriptive and with literary references. But some nature loving friends just couldn’t get on with it. Is there a bucket list of books or 100 books to read before you are 30, 40 , or die! A good book is time well spent.
